I had a brief holiday in Nairobi and Mombasa recently courtesy of Buganda Royal Institute Mengo. Actually it was a staff party in Mombasa and we had fun. On the 4th of August, the people of Kenya will vote in a referendum whether to change the national constitution or not. The “Yes” camp seems to have a field day with all the youth, women and other minority groups advocate for a change in the constitution. The “NO” camp have employed the services of former president Daniel Arap Moi who is one of those top politicians against the changes. I pray the exercise is executed smoothly for the best of all East Africans. As I enjoyed the breeze and tranquil of both Nairobi and Mombasa, something interesting caught my eye. This was the level of professionalism exhibited by the few television stations I managed to watch. Notable was Citizen TV which greatly surprised me especially with the English News and the OMO game show hosted by the popular Daniel Ndambuki aka Churchill. The show is presented with such gusto and charm I have never seen on any TV in East Africa. Personally I have never seen a prolific presenter like Daniel. He is top drawer and what is the prize at stake? A red Nissan X trail for the lucky winner.
Is it “Yes” or “No” for Kenya?30 07 2010
